For Rainbow Film Festival

Client: For Rainbow Film Festival  |   2016   |   Art Direction & Creative Strategy

The 2016 For Rainbow Film Festival had a clear mandate: Honouring the great brazilian artist, activist and Drag Queen Elke Maravilha and being a beacon of support and inclusion for the LGBTQIA+ Community. We created a specific campaign slogan with that purpose: “Love who you love, start a revolution”. Our idea was to be inspired by Elke's rebellion and to use street art as catalyst, supporting the theme of LGBTQIA+ activism and acceptance.

We created a series of key visuals using graphic overlays inspired by the Elke's iconic and colourful looks, mixed with 80's visual aesthetics layered with pictures of diverse queer couples. We emulated guerilla art practices like the traditional "Lambe-Lambe" to spread awareness for the festival around the city of Fortaleza. The results were: record breaking attendance and a lot of earned media attention for the festival and sponsors.
